How to use Zekura, screen by screen: from the first server to the report for your auditor. With real screenshots from the portal.
Zekura is a portal at app.zekura.eu plus a small agent on every server you protect. The portal has five places, each answering one question:
| Place | The question | What you find there |
|---|---|---|
| Overview | Can I restore today? | the Restore Assurance Score, what needs attention, what ran last night |
| Systems | What is running and is it protected? | your servers, their components and their coverage |
| Backups | Is everything running as planned? | jobs, runs and templates |
| Recovery and evidence | How do I get it back, and does that hold up? | restore, trial restores, reports, evidence chain |
| Settings | Everything else | storage, alerts, users, organisation, capacity |
The chapters below follow that layout. The portal itself is in Dutch at the moment; the screenshots come from a real organisation. The full single-page reference is available in Dutch under Full reference.
Documentation
Getting started in ten minutes
Register, add a first server, create a first job and see a backup within the hour that has actually been restored.
Documentation
The overview and the Restore Assurance Score
One number that says whether you can restore today, and the three parts it is made of: coverage, freshness and proof.
Documentation
Systems: adding a server
Linux, Windows, Docker hosts, Proxmox nodes and verifiers: one command, and what the agent does and does not do on your server afterwards.
Documentation
Jobs: what, where to, how often
Files, PostgreSQL with point-in-time recovery, MySQL, SQL Server, Docker volumes, Gitea, Mailcow, Nextcloud, Proxmox VMs and Kubernetes. With schedule, retention and templates.
Documentation
Four levels of verification
What happens after every run: integrity with an empty cache, sample against the source, restarting the application, and the full boot test. Plus the ransomware brakes.
Documentation
Storage: Cubixion or your own bucket
Where your encrypted blocks live, what object lock in compliance mode means, and how to connect and qualify your own S3 bucket.
Documentation
Keys: managed or sovereign
Who holds the key to your backups, how the five shares work, what the yearly escrow test does and how to restore without Zekura.
Documentation
Restoring in four steps
What, from when, where to, confirm. Files to a folder, databases as a disposable instance, cloud data under a separate folder. With measured recovery time in the chain.
Documentation
Evidence chain and reports
A ledger that can only grow, anchored publicly every day and recomputable by your auditor. Plus the quarterly report with the mapping to NIS2, ISO 27001, CyFun, DORA and GDPR.
Documentation
Alerts and channels
What Zekura reports, at which severity, and how you receive it: in the portal, by e-mail, via webhook or Matrix.
Documentation
Users, roles and settings
Five roles with fixed meaning, inviting by e-mail, units for large organisations, two-factor authentication, capacity and quota.
Documentation
For IT partners
All customers on one screen, sorted by risk. Working inside a customer organisation, your brand on your own domain, one invoice a month and a partner rate.
Documentation
Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
Mail, OneDrive, SharePoint, Drive and Gmail via a connector host: mirrored incrementally, encrypted in your own storage, and a sample restored every week.
